Dr Jussi Parikka is Professor in Technological Culture & Aesthetics at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. He is also Visiting Professor at FAMU at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague where he leads the project Operational Images and Visual Culture (2019-2023). His books include the media ecology-trilogy Digital Contagions (2nd. Edition 2016), Insect Media (2010) and A Geology of Media (2015). This topic was continued in A Slow, Contemporary Violence: Damaged Environments of Technological Culture (2016) and in the short co-authored book Remain (2019). His new co-edited book is called Photography Off the Scale (2021, with Tomas Dvorak).
